I help private equity portfolio companies build the financial systems their investors need — fast, clean, and exit-ready.
The problem
Most SMEs that receive private equity investment weren’t built for the scrutiny that comes with it. The numbers exist — but nobody fully trusts them.
Manual reconciliation, disconnected systems, and no clear close calendar mean the numbers arrive too late to be useful.
Board packs assembled overnight before meetings. Version control issues. Numbers that can’t survive due diligence.
When the CFO and the bookkeeper can’t agree, the PE operating partner starts doing their own reconciliation. That’s not a sustainable model.
Clean financials that survive an acquirer’s due diligence need to be built years before exit, not in the three months before a sale process.
What I do
Every engagement starts with the output your investors need to see, then builds the system and process around it.
01
Chart of accounts, close calendar, approval workflows — designed from the investor output backwards. Before a single line of software is configured.
02
A tight, purposeful implementation scoped to PE requirements: clean P&L, real-time cash visibility, budget vs actuals, and reporting that holds up under due diligence.
03
Post go-live I stay on as your financial brain. Board packs, variance commentary, cash flow forecasting, and LP-ready reporting every month.
Why this combination is rare
Most ERP consultants are technically capable but financially inexperienced. They build systems that work, but not systems that produce what an investor actually needs to see.
As a CPA and Head of Finance, my starting point is always the output: clean P&L, real-time cash visibility, a board pack that holds up under due diligence. Then I build the system around it.
I work with a small number of clients at a time, typically introduced through PE operating partners and M&A advisors across Australia.
Certified Practising Accountant with executive finance experience in SME environments.
Hands-on implementation across accounting, inventory, purchasing and operations modules.
Currently operating as Head of Finance in an SME. The experience is current, not theoretical.
Every engagement is scoped and priced upfront. No hourly rates, no scope creep surprises.
Recent result
Their first post-implementation audit was the cleanest in the company’s history.
A PE-backed business moved from a fragmented, spreadsheet-dependent finance function to a fully implemented Odoo environment — on time and investor-ready. The operating partner had reliable reporting within 90 days of engagement start.
